The Electrical Circuit Lab is a virtual lab, in which students can create their own electrical circuits using different components, such as resistors, light bulbs, switches, capacitors and coils. The circuits can be powered by an AC/DC power supply or batteries. Furthermore, the students can perform measurements on their circuits with help of a (virtual) ammeter, voltmeter, wattmeter and an ohmmeter. With help of this lab, students can collect data and analyse it by creating graphs.

The Electrical Circuit Lab was developed by the University of Twente, who is the coordinator of the Next-Lab project. This year, the lab was selected as a winner of the 2018 GOLC International Online Laboratory Award (in the Simulated Experiments category). This award presented by the Global Online Laboratory Consortium (GOLC), whose aim is the creation of sharable, online experimental environments, increasing the educational and scientific value of learning, which may not be accessible, scalable or efficient through traditional methods.

The award has been presented during the REV2018 conference on March 21st-23rd, 2018, in Duesseldorf, Germany.
